What will your child experience during their first visit to the dentist?

All teeth and soft tissues will be fully examined
Occlusion, the way our teeth fit together, will be evaluated
Discussion with you and your child on any habits (thumb-sucking, pacifiers, bottles, etc.)
Digital or conventional x-rays will be taken (as needed) to diagnose cavities, infections, position and location of
un-rupted teeth
Teeth will be cleaned and polished
Fluoride treatments will be provided (when appropriate)
Brushing, flossing, and diet will be reviewed and outlined

Dr. Shiflett graduated from University of Southern California in 1992 and continued her education in General Practice Residency at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center in Downey, California.

Dr. Anna Lynn De Guzman is a UCLA faculty member in the department of Pediatric Dentistry. She currently enjoys teaching pediatric dentistry to the next generation of oral health care providers. She is also a member of various dental organizations including the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, the San Gabriel Valley Dental Society, the California Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.
